Frequently asked questions

The practical details about ordering a CITTRA print.

What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

Fish sauce, or nam pla, is one of the basic seasonings of Thai cooking. It is made by fermenting fish with salt until the liquid develops a deep savoury flavour, then used in everything from stir-fries and soups to dipping sauces and table condiments. A small amount can change the balance of an entire dish.

Bottled fish sauce is therefore an extremely ordinary kitchen object in Thailand. It sits in supermarkets, market stalls and home cupboards in the same way soy sauce or vinegar does elsewhere. Commercial labels and familiar bottle shapes become part of that everyday food landscape simply through repetition. That is what makes the subject culturally specific: not because one brand is important, but because fish sauce itself is fundamental to how Thai food is seasoned.
