Product FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The practical details about ordering a CITTRA print.

What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

White elephants have a special place in Thai royal tradition. They are not a separate species and are rarely literally white; the term refers to elephants with unusual pale characteristics that meet traditional criteria. Historically, qualifying animals were associated with the monarch and treated as signs of royal prestige and merit.

That relationship is old enough that the white elephant once appeared directly on Siamese national flags before Thailand adopted the modern tricolour. The animal still carries a distinctly Thai royal association today, although real white elephants are extremely rare and carefully classified. That makes the subject more specific than simply using an elephant as a general symbol of Thailand: it connects the animal directly with the history of the Thai monarchy.
