Portuguese Calçada Sardine Mosaic Print

Sardines are a pretty big deal in Portugal, especially during Lisbon’s June street festivals. You'll find them grilling outside, served on bread, with music and people filling the streets. They've become one of those everyday foods that people instantly associate with Portuguese summers.

For this print, I wanted to mix that tradition with something else I find fascinating: *calçada portuguesa*. It's the art of making patterns from small stones laid by hand, often creating those famous wavy pavements you see around Lisbon. I loved the idea of using that same mosaic style for the sardines, bringing together two recognisable parts of Portuguese culture in one print.
