Product FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The practical details about ordering a CITTRA print.

What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

The Galo de Barcelos, or Rooster of Barcelos, comes from the town of Barcelos in northern Portugal. According to local legend, a pilgrim wrongly accused of a crime claimed that a roasted rooster would crow to prove his innocence. Miraculously, it did, and the pilgrim was saved. Over time, the colourful rooster became one of Portugal's most recognisable symbols, appearing on traditional pottery, souvenirs and decorations across the country.

And there's another Portuguese tradition right beneath your feet. Calçada portuguesa is the art of arranging small stones into decorative pavements. From swirling patterns to detailed pictures, even an ordinary pavement can become a piece of artwork. Two very different crafts, both unmistakably Portuguese.
