Product FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The practical details about ordering a CITTRA print.

What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

The red carnation, or cravo in Portuguese, became a symbol of freedom during Portugal’s Carnation Revolution on 25 April 1974. As soldiers moved through Lisbon to overthrow the dictatorship, people took to the streets and placed carnations in soldiers’ rifle barrels. The flower became closely associated with the largely peaceful revolution, which ended nearly five decades of authoritarian rule.

Every April, red carnations return to Portuguese streets as people commemorate Freedom Day, known locally as Dia da Liberdade. Alongside the carnation, another familiar part of Portugal is the calcada. Together, the carnation and calcada bring two very different parts of Portuguese life into one print.
