The story behind this print

The plastic pink flamingo entered American suburban life in 1957, when designer Don Featherstone created the moulded lawn ornament for a Massachusetts plastics company. It eventually became shorthand for American backyard kitsch

Portable radios were part of the same post-war consumer world. By the 1950s and 1960s, compact radios brought music, news and advertising into kitchens, bedrooms, cars and backyards, turning broadcasting into an everyday household presence.
