What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

The pink lawn flamingo entered American suburbia in 1957, when designer Don Featherstone created a moulded-plastic pair for Union Products in Leominster, Massachusetts. With no live flamingo available to study, he worked from photographs, turning a tropical bird into something that could stand on metal legs beside a driveway, flowerbed or freshly cut lawn.

The timing suited post-war suburbia, where new houses could look remarkably alike and inexpensive garden ornaments offered an easy way to add personality. Flamingos were sold in pairs and eventually in the millions, shifting from cheerful yard decoration to a recognised piece of American pop-culture kitsch. That slightly absurd meeting of tropical fantasy and everyday suburban life is what gives the flamingo such a natural place in a 1950s Americana print.
