Product FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The practical details about ordering a CITTRA print.

What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

The nopal cactus is one of the plants most closely associated with Mexico, and not only because it grows well in dry landscapes. Its pads and fruit have been eaten for centuries, appearing fresh in markets and cooked in salads, stews, tacos and breakfast dishes. The plant is both landscape and food.

It also sits at the centre of Mexico’s national emblem: an eagle perched on a cactus, based on the foundation story of Tenochtitlan. That gives the nopal an unusually strong connection between everyday life and national imagery. A cactus can therefore point to Mexico without relying on desert stereotypes alone. It belongs to agriculture, cooking, history and public symbolism at the same time, making it one of the country’s most specific and recognisable plant subjects.
