The practical details about ordering a CITTRA print.

What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

The lion has been connected with English heraldry for centuries. Lions appeared on the royal arms by the reign of Richard I in the late twelfth century, and the familiar three-lion emblem remains one of the most recognisable symbols associated with England today, appearing everywhere from official heraldry to national sports.

Heraldic lions were never meant to be natural-history drawings. They were designed as strong, readable symbols of rank, courage and authority, with exaggerated poses that could be recognised on shields, banners and seals. That history explains why a lion still works so naturally as an England symbol even though wild lions have no connection to the English landscape. The meaning comes from centuries of visual use rather than the animal’s geography.
