What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

The Sol de Mayo, or Sun of May, is one of Argentina’s most recognisable national symbols. It appears at the centre of the national flag and is linked to the May Revolution of 1810, the political break that began Argentina’s path away from Spanish colonial rule. The sun was added to the flag in the early nineteenth century and has remained there ever since.

Its face and alternating straight and wavy rays make it instantly different from a simple decorative sun. The emblem appears on flags, public buildings, coins and official insignia, so Argentinians encounter it far beyond ceremonial occasions. That long public use gives the symbol a clear connection to Argentina’s political history and national identity without needing to turn it into something mystical.
