Product FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The practical details about ordering a CITTRA print.

What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

African elephants are associated with strength for obvious physical reasons, but in parts of West Africa that idea also appears in established cultural symbolism. Among Akan peoples of Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, small cast-metal elephant forms were used as gold weights, and proverbs connected the animal with the power and protection of chiefs.

One Akan saying recorded with these objects explains that a person who follows an elephant’s tracks is protected from the dew on the bushes — an image of shelter gained by following someone powerful. That does not make the elephant a single symbol for all of Africa, but it gives the idea of “power” a real regional foundation. The subject can therefore carry strength without pretending one meaning applies across an entire continent.
