The practical details about ordering a CITTRA print.

What paper is it printed on?

You can choose between Premium Matte — 170 GSM and Archival Matte — 250 GSM. Both are matte and uncoated. Premium Matte has a smooth, non-reflective finish, while Archival Matte is heavier, acid-free and has a natural off-white tone.

When will my print arrive?

Each print is made after you order. Check the estimated delivery window on the product page for your location.

Can I return a print?

Yes. CITTRA offers 14-day returns. Please check the returns policy for the full conditions and instructions before sending anything back.

Will the print colours match my screen?

We aim to show each print accurately, but colours may vary slightly between screens and the finished print. Paper choice and display settings can also affect how colours appear.

About the print

The story behind this print

Carbonara is closely associated with Rome and the wider Lazio region, where a small group of ingredients produces one of Italy’s most recognisable pasta dishes. Traditional versions use pasta, eggs, hard sheep’s cheese such as Pecorino Romano, guanciale and black pepper, with the hot pasta helping turn the egg and cheese into a creamy sauce.

The important detail is what is usually not there: cream is not needed to create the texture. The sauce depends on timing, heat and the starchy cooking water rather than adding a separate dairy base. That simple technique is part of why carbonara has become so widely discussed and imitated. It looks straightforward, but the method matters, making it a useful example of Italian cooking built from a few well-handled ingredients.
